Scottish Mediation Network
An independant charity whose aim is to put mediation into the mainstream as a widely available and clearly understood option for resolving disputes of all kinds in Scotland. They can provide information covering a wide range of mediation areas and providers in Scotland.
The Network are developing with key mediation organisations in Scotland a vehicle for assuring quality by setting up a Scottish Mediation Register as the result of consultation. This showed there was a common interest in collaborating to set minimum standards for all forms of mediation in Scotland that will re-assure people both inside and outside the mediation community about the quality of mediation services, mediators and mediation training.
You can view the Action Plan paper that sets out how the Scottish Mediation Network staff will work with the mediation community to set up a Scottish Mediation Register during 2007. It is anticipated that admission to the Register will become the norm for all practicing mediators in Scotland.
