The mediators on our panel have direct experience, often in senior positions, in over 60 commercial, professional, legal, voluntary and public sectors. You may be able to recognise a qualification that is relevant to your profession or organisation from the list opposite. The Mediators List you can view here shows the range of fields in which our panel mediators have experience.
In many mediations it can help if the mediators have knowledge of the environment and language of the sector in which your dispute has arisen. While not essential, this can give you more confidence in the process and can also help the mediators to assist you to find an agreement. This will not affect their independence.
Our mediators have seen how destructive long-running disputes can be and they know that mediation will help you to create more practical and realistic solutions. They will not act in an advisory role nor will they sit in judgement, but will work with you to facilitate your negotiations towards a mutually acceptable resolution.
Each Panel Mediator has both formal mediation training and takes part in our Continuous Professional Development program, which requires them to complete at least 17.5 hours a year of continuous practice development, plus they are required to keep a logbook of their activities and submit this once a year for review.
